YORK City will face Eastbourne Borough, Cambridge City, Altrincham or Kettering in next year's Nationwide Conference.

The four clubs are battling for the one remaining promotion place available to Conference North and South clubs via the play-off system.

Southport and Grays Athletic are already guaranteed their Conference places after finishing champions of the respective divisions.

Cambridge will now entertain Eastbourne and Altrincham travel to Kettering to contest the two regional finals on Saturday.

The winners will then meet in a promotion play-off final at Stoke City's Britannia Stadium on Sunday, May 15.

Altrincham beat Nuneaton Borough 4-2 on penalties in the north semi-final after the scores were deadlocked at 1-1 while Kettering had earlier triumphed 2-1 at Droylsden after extra time.

Eastbourne won 4-2 at Thurrock and will meet Cambridge, who received a bye to the south final because Lewes' stadium does not meet Conference requirements.

The battle to go up from the Conference into the Football League moves up a gear tomorrow with the second leg of the play-off semi-finals. Carlisle entertain Aldershot, who hold a 1-0 advantage, while Hereford and Stevenage meet at Edgar Street with the scores at 1-1 meet in the other play-off.

City supporters hoping to air their views on the club are reminded that the deadline to respond to the fans' survey is next Wednesday.

The Supporters' Trust distributed copies of the Fan Survey at City's final two home matches and it continues to be available on the internet at www.ycst.org.uk.
