Huntington WMC's Phil Good hit a maximum on his way to gaming in 13 darts in York Knavesmire Open Darts League division one encounter with Clifton.

Jim Wallis (18) and John Smith (20) gave good support as Huntington went on to win 7-2, Martyn Turner firing 14 darts for Clifton.

The 'in-house' battle at the Volunteer saw the 'A' team win 8-1 with Mick Willsden 17, Heath Scaife (19 and 20), Paul Cooper (180 plus 19 and 20), Mick Harris (180 for 20) and Chaz Ramsden (21) leading the way.

Rich Corner (19) and Chris Bullen (19) starred as Mitre enjoyed a clean sweep at Crescent 'B'. Kev O'Hara added a maximum, while Ali Wray chipped in with an 84 bull finish.

Pack got off to a fine start at Huntington 'B' with Dick Willoughby out in 22, but the home team hit back through Keith Elliott (19), Pip Hair with 21 and Steve Jackson (22) to record a 6-3 victory.

John Morrison (21) gave Crescent 'A' the perfect start, but Ebor took the next four with Tony Raymond out in 17 and 19 and Mark Hartley (20). Inspired by a splendid 16-darter from Iain Smith, Crescent took the rest with Smith-Chris Parlabean being the match winners.

Steve Simpson-Glyn Jeffrey sealed victory for division two leaders Bootham Tavern 'A' against Jackdaw, while Yearsley 'A' keep the pressure on Bootham with a 7-3 win against Edinburgh.

Pete Ross hit the tons as Groves WMC took a last game win against Palace, while Poppleton Rd WMC 'B' recorded their first win of the season against Huntington SC 'A'.

Division one players involved in the preliminary round should play their matches before July 14.

Simpson sparkles

RON Simpson hit a 15-dart leg in York John Smith's Men's Darts League division one as Crescent beat Swan 7-2.

Craig Wedge gamed in 20 as third-placed Cygnet 'A' crushed second-placed Golden Slipper 8-1.

Dave Endeacott hit a 19-darter as Cue Ball overcame Cygnet 'B' 5-4, while Lee Brundrett-Keith Turner were the match winners as Poacher beat Mitre 6-3.

In division two, Pete Edwards (20) partnered Kev Graham to win the decider for Fulfordgate against Sun 'B' who rescued the aggregate with a good win from Mal Thornam-Pete Hilton.

Dave Dobson (21) helped Flag 'B' to a 7-2 win over leaders Rose and Crown, while Gary Richardson was outstanding for Flag 'A' as they beat Green Tree 6-3.
