ALISTAIR Wilks continued his domination of the Willows by winning the latest match in the Outwood Angling Centre series.

He landed a solid 81lb 10oz, fishing on Goldrush 63, and caught carp to 5lb on betaine- flavoured pellet tight to the willow tree to his right, and the boards at six metres.

The match, fished in strong winds was round eleven of the series and produced some outstanding results with over 60lb needed for sixth place.

Last week's winner Ben Fisk (JT Rogers) put in another great performance, this time on peg 54. Fishing pellet to the island at 15m, the Leeds teenager had 76lb 8oz of carp to 5lb. He could have broken the ton had he not lost around 30lb of fish in the island snags.

By comparison, third placed Gordon Fennel (The Willows) had 71lb 6oz of carp on catmeat at peg 60, and never lost a fish.

Others: Andy Rymer (The Willows) - 69-14-0, Andy Gallant (Bob-Co.) 67-0-0 and Trevor Rymer (The Willows) 65-4-0.

With the carp preparing to spawn, weights slipped a little for the Bank Holiday Monday open at the Willows but 42lb was still needed for sixth place.

Fisk improved on his second place on Saturday by winning on the Goldrush lake.

On peg 50, he weighed an impressive 63lb 8oz consisting of carp to 3lb taken on pellet fished to a shallow bar at 14 metres.

Second-placed Dave Armitage (Bob-Co) could have won the match but pulled out of several good carp on peg 54. Armitage ended with 60lb of carp taken on pellet fished to the island at 15 metres.

Third placed Andy Rymer (The Willows) had 56lb 8oz of carp to 5lb on paste at nine metres in open water on peg 60.

Others: Steve Raper (Hirst Tackle) 50-12-0, Tony Hewson (Leeds Angling Centre) 43-0-0 and Mark Rockingham (The Willows) 42-6-0

Mick Addinall (Spectrum Autos) continued his incredible run of big weights at the Carpvale complex, Moor Monkton, in the three-hour mid-week contest.

After drawing peg one on Cyprio with carp moving on the surface his game plan was simple, effective and ruthlessly executed. Fishing a floating pole at 18 metres he poked pieces of floating bread to the island cover where the carp were only too keen to take it.

Thirty fish in 180 hectic minutes added up to a staggering evening's work totalling 142lb 8oz

Visiting anglers practising for a forthcoming Clubman contest swelled the entry on Cedar Lake at the Oaks to 72.

Such visitors are often regarded as pools-fodder, but not so Ian Pritchard who fishes for Alliance and Leicester Liverpool. He pulled the plum peg 62 and, despite never having clapped eyes on the North Yorkshire venue before, went on to win the match with a pellet-based carp net of 52lb 12oz.

Unfortunately that's where his luck ran out as he forgot to enter the optional super pool leaving regular Bert Poole to take second place in the match with 52lb 5oz but pocket more cash than the winner.
