KELVIN Brook starred as Drax downed HPH York Vale League division four leaders Pocklington in a close-run clash.

Brook hit 46 of his side's 130-8, Mal Harrison taking 3-40, and then produced 4-49 as Pock fell for 127, four runs shy of victory. Harrison was Pock's top man with 3-40 followed by a knock of 37.

Askham Bryan YPO smashed 188-6 against Huntington with Pete Wood (79) and veteran Will Knight (38 from 15 balls) taking the fight to the accurate Mick Storey (3-17 from 12 overs). Asher Maroof then bagged 3-37 as Huntington were dismissed for 93.

Ovington's Craig Nicoll (44) and Chris Storey (32) thwarted Copmanthorpe's Liam Elliker (6-20) long enough to set up a score of 157. Perwez Ahkter (4-26) and Karl Walker (3-30) kept Copmanthorpe in check to seal victory by 18 runs.

Heworth's Anton Rogers hit 44 against Woodhouse Grange whose Peter Nolton took 3-28. This set up a fine finish as Heworth held on to win by three runs with Nolton left on 32no as Keith Hyman (3-37) mopped up the tail.

Ian Chadwick's radar was in fine working order for Thorpe Willoughby against Melbourne in division five.

Thorpe posted 166-7, Pete Masterman top scoring with 55. Then Chadwick stole the show by returning a career best 9-24 in skittling Melbourne for 69.

Wheldrake wasted little time against Sheriff Hutton. Despite setting a measly target of 119, Wheldrake's Kevin Dent (5-3) and Harry Codling (3-7) routed Sheriff for just 51.

Mick Jay was on target for Stockton and Hopgrove against Malton and Old Malton. His 4-21, coupled with three wickets from Steve Duckett, bowled out Malton for just 60. Matt Bulmer (3-23) inspired a fight-back but Stockton eased home by five wickets.
