I WRITE in response to Stephen Lickley's letter in Sportsmail about York City (Evening Press, Tuesday, May 24).

City can do without people like him, (except of course for his money). If you are a true City fan you will be at matches whatever happens. Only those who stick with them now will deserve to be there, cheering on the streets when the good times come again - which they will.

Billy McEwan will turn out to be a fine manager and I will be there along with my family to will them on.

Give Billy a chance with his own choice of players, and let's not criticise him yet.

The only problem I can see regarding the season tickets, is you can no longer pay with a credit card, which I know people like to do, to spread the cost. This is not the fault of the club either, but the credit card company who want to withhold funds in case anything goes wrong. Obviously York city can't afford to work this way.

Come on people of York, support your team.
