Civil Service paid a heavy price for failing to utilise their full over allocation when a ten-man New Earswick side gained a three wicket win off the final ball of the 52nd and final over of their division six game.
Service stalwart Mick Bradley made 50 and Alex Livie 37, but R Wood took 7-80 and John Routledge 3-65 to bowl out Service for 172 in 37.5 overs.
Earswick's batsmen moved steadily towards their target, Phil Coull making 50, Wood 37 and Steve Richards 32, but the winning run didn't come until the last ball of the extra seven overs.
