Youngsters keen to try their hand at golf can now look forward to the best introduction to the game as Sandburn Hall has become a Young Masters Golf junior academy.

Hosted by PGA professional Simon Appleton, the programme offers boys and girls between the ages of five and 12 a comprehensive introduction to golf.

Said Appleton: "We have excellent facilities here at Sandburn Hall and are delighted to be accredited with YMG Junior Golf Academy Status."

The success of the likes of Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia has made golf extremely popular with young people but the problem has been how to get started.

Sandburn Hall, opened earlier this month, welcomes all newcomers to the game and this exciting programme makes it easy for juniors to start and also helps them to progress with structured coaching.

Rules and etiquette are also taught alongside fun challenges and mini competitions to ensure the whole golfing experience is enjoyable.

Sandburn Hall's first YMG course is on July 10 and already have a number of youngsters interested in joining the classes.

Intensive one-week courses will also be run through the summer holidays. For further information contact Appleton on 01904 469929.
