INSPIRED by Royal Ascot visiting York for the first time, 15 artists have been invited to reveal the hidden corners of York and the interiors of its lesser-known buildings for Kentmere House Gallery's summer show.
They were asked to observe people in the city's streets, cafes and parks too, and the results are on show in People & Places Of York at the gallery in Scarcroft Hill until July 28.
Gallery owner Ann Petherick says: "Royal Ascot brought with it many people who had never visited York - or even the north - before. Kentmere House Gallery has therefore set out to show parts of the city that even many residents are not familiar with."
Artists include Susan Brown, John Thornton, Ann Kilvington and John Brunsden. Prices range from £150 to £2,000. The gallery is open on Thursday, 6pm to 9pm, and any other time by appointment on 01904 656507.
