FORMER York City on-loan striker Ben Jackson (pictured left) has broken his leg while playing as a pre-season trialist for Conference rivals Halifax Town.
Jackson, who played ten matches for the Minstermen at the end of last season, was injured 15 minutes into the Shaymen's first warm-up match at Brighouse Town.
Another ex-Minsterman - goalkeeper Paul Crichton - has gone on trial at Cambridge United.
Crichton, who left City under a cloud after arguing with the club's supporters during last season's 4-0 defeat at Gravesend and Northfleet, impressed in a pre-season friendly for Conference new boys Cambridge against Ipswich Town.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper had spells at Leigh RMI and Accrington Stanley last season after departing the Minstermen.
Crichton's former City team-mate left-back Sean Davies has also been given a chance to impress at the Abbey Stadium.
