YORK City manager Billy McEwan and the club's board of directors will meet fans face-to-face in a series of Football Roadshows latert this month.

They will visit Malton, Easingwold, Knaresborough and Selby with supporters given the opportunity to fire questions at the panel. A further night in York is also being planned.

The roadshow will kick-off at Ryedale Indoor Bowls Club on Tuesday, July 26 with question-and-answer sessions following at Easingwold's Galtres Centre (Thursday, August 4) and Knaresborough Working Men's Club (Tuesday, August 9).

Dates are still to be announced for the events in Selby and York.

Each evening will begin at 7pm with an estimated finish two hours later. Admission is free.

Communications director Sophie McGill said: "The idea for the roadshow came from Norwich City who launched a similar initiative last season. We recognise we have supporters all across North Yorkshire and wanted to extend the fans forum concept beyond York and take the club out to our supporters.

"As a supporter-owned club, it is imperative we reach out to the wider community. Billy McEwan and the board will be present at all the roadshow events and fans will have the opportunity to have their say and find out more about club operations and the manager's plans for the coming season."

City manager McEwan added: "I'm looking forward to meeting more supporters and telling them about the new players we have signed, pre-season preparations and, of course, the plans for the season ahead. Hopefully fans will turn out in numbers and the events will be lively and interesting."
