AS A fairly recent newcomer to York, I agree with Sir Ron Cooke (One of a kind, May 24).
The Stonebow is a dingy mess, and couldn't the tower of the Catholic church be removed, allowing the church to remain as it is? It almost ruins the wonderful west front of the Minster.
I find it almost incomprehensible that the city council allows a fine early industrial building to slowly disintegrate.
I mean, of course, the Bonding Warehouse by Skeldergate Bridge. Would it be possible for your paper, representing, as it does, the power of the media, to get some response from the council as to its intentions?
