A YORK charity shop has unveiled a special wedding service.
Oxfam, in Goodramgate, has set up a new bridal department. With an extensive range of second-hand dresses, from sizes eight to 18, women across the city now have the opportunity to give a slice of their wedding budget to a good cause.
The dresses come in a range of colours and styles, and prices start at £50. The collection includes designs from Forever Yours, Bellissima and Donna Salado, with the most expensive piece at about £500.
Ralph Sayers, shop manager, said: “I’m excited, and it allows couples to spend some of their budget on other things, such as honeymoons.”
There are a total of 150 dresses available as well as a range of 40 hats, children’s clothing and suits for mothers-of-the-bride.
Mr Sayers, who has been working on the collection for ten months, is now looking for a volunteer to help out with specific bridal dress inquiries.
