KINGSLEY Wetherald bagged a brace as York City’s youth team beat Bradfoird City 3-2.
Wetherald opened the scoring in the first minute from Nick Thompson’s pass and then added a second on the quarter-hour mark after striking partner Dom Brown had shown an impressive turn of pace.
Bradford pulled a goal back when Ryan Qualter conceded a penalty but the Minstermites were 3-1 ahead by the break when Jonny Andrew curled a beautiful, left-footed effort in off a post.
The visitors reduced the deficit after the break, but City centre-back Qualter then saw a header disallowed for offside.
