YORK RUFC Under-12s brought the Yorkshire Cup back to Clifton Park after a superb 14-0 win over Huddersfield at Bradford & Bingley.
Having already beaten tough opponents Doncaster and Sheffield in earlier rounds, they were faced with an extremely big and powerful opposition in the final.
On the back foot in the forwards for the first half, the York boys defended hard and didn’t miss a tackle – and were level at the break with the match yet to see its first score.
York captain Jack Starkey suffered a collar bone injury ten minutes into the game and had to be taken to hospital but managed to return to join in the post-match celebrations.
Oli Jacques took over the armband and dominated after the break.
As York’s forwards got on top of Huddersfield, the backs had more possession and outside centre Will Atkin crashed over for two well-worked team tries.
Both tries were converted by Alex Pepper.
