With regard to the chaos being experienced by drivers trying to exit York Hospital onto Wigginton Road (Emergency stop, The Press, march 12), could a contraflow system have been temporarily implemented, with vehicles going around the back of the hospital and joining the main road at the junction opposite Rose Street?
That exit is plenty wide enough to let vehicles use it in the same way as the original one, which now has room for only one at a time. The original exit could then be used solely by ambulances. Who knows, it might just work.
