STAFF from the Ministry of Defence in York staged a Budget Day strike.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) walked out yesterday for the third time in a month, as part of a continuing dispute over changes to redundancy payments.
Staff claim the changes will see staff lose out on up to a third of their entitlements.
Among those striking were members of the Yorkshire Branch of the MoD, including at Imphal Barracks.
Chris Dando, PCS MoD group president, said: “The Government needs to reach an agreement that protects existing members’ entitlements and recognise that slashing entitlements and cutting jobs on the cheap will further damage the Ministry of Defence.”
