THE man killed in a car accident near Forest of Galtres Golf Club has been named.
Mark James Waring, of Sutton-on-the-Forest, was killed when his Renault Megane left Moorlands Lane, between Skelton and Wigginton, at 3pm on Monday.
The 54-year-old had to be cut from the vehicle by the emergency services and was taken to York Hospital, but he died of his injuries.
The area where Mr Waring was killed is well-known locally for its numerous sharp S-bends.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said the coroner had been informed.
