TWO pensioners have been injured after a crash in a North Yorkshire seaside town.

The collision happened at about 2.55pm today as an 86-year-old woman, from Scarborough, was crossing Burniston Road and heading towards Peasholme Park in the town.

She was struck by a maroon Piaggio motorbike being ridden by a 72-year-old man, also from Scarborough, which was heading towards Peasholme roundabout.

The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries to his left ankle and chest, while the female pedestrian suffered head, chest and ankle injuries. Both were taken to Scarborough Hospital.
