YORKSHIRE is experiencing its coldest winter season for more than 30 years, weather experts have found, ahead of another Arctic blast.
As forecasters last night predicted snow would fall in the York and North Yorkshire area tonight, tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, they said the provisional average winter temperature of 2.4C was the lowest since 1978/9.
There is one week left of the season to go.
MeteoGroup forecasters said this winter had been the third coldest in the last 50 years and tenth coldest in the last 120 years.
