TRANSPORT bosses have unveiled plans for a 600-space Park&Ride site on the outskirts of York.
The development, west of Whitehall Grange at Clifton Moor, is the latest stage in City of York Council’s ambitious Access York programme, which aims to combat congestion throughout the city.
It will include 14 spaces for blue badge holders, 14 parent and child spaces, four motorbike bays and eight camper van places, as well as two spaces for electric cars to recharge.
The council envisages building the facility in two phases, with 500 spaces in the first phase and 100 in the second.
A planning application has been formally submitted, and supporting documents say the development could also boost links to York Hospital, with the Park&Ride buses stopping nearby.
