Farewell to Don It is with great sadness that we at York Model Boat Club have learned of the death on December 23 of one of our stalwart members, Don Parlabean.
Don was an active member of the club for many years, and had held the post of chairman for ten years until his illness took hold and he had to hand the baton on.
Don helped steer the club through good and bad times and was always on hand to help and advise other members in the art of scale-model boat-building.
He could often be seen poolside, sometimes sailing in the most adverse of weathers when many club members had stayed at home, such was his commitment to the hobby of model boating. His presence will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Our thoughts are extended to his family at this very difficult time.
