I would like to thank the council refuse collectors for battling through the snow on Tuesday, and the delivery-van drivers who did the same to deliver goods I have recently ordered through the internet, not to mention my Press paper girl.
But the biggest thanks must go to the postman, who delivered our mail in Osbaldwick, about seven hours later than usual, at 6.40pm. I wish for his sake it had been something important. I just hope he did not realise it was all junk mail. Thank you anyway for your dedication to duty.
Linda Oldfield, Baysdale Avenue, Osbaldwick, York.
