MARTYN Turner beat Barry Noble 4-1 to win the final of the £1,000 York Open Darts Knockout.
Turner dropped only one leg en route to the title, starting his run with a 3-0 first round win over Steve Smith – a victory that included legs of 17 and 19 darts.
In the quarter-finals, he hit legs of 17, 16 and 18 darts on his way to an 88.41 three-dart average and a 3-0 win over Chris Thompson.
Paul Botterill was his semi-final victim, with legs of 17, 16 and 18 darts leading to another 3-0 success.
Noble opened with a 3-2 win over Kirk Bevans before ousting Lutz Leutzsch 3-1 in the last eight. Noble then beat Lawrie Morgan 3-1 in the semi-finals.
Turner opened the best of seven final with a 15-dart leg and Noble hit back with a 19-dart win before he wrapped up victory with legs of 17, 20 and 17 darts.
Meanwhile, The Crescent WMC’s £1,000 Monday Night Individual Darts League is due to start at the end of this month.
All games are played over 12-leg matches. The entry fee is £20, but the sum is refunded on completion of all fixtures.
