THEY’RE more used to baking heat and sweltering humidity – but now a group of masseuses from York have been getting a taste of weather of a very different kind.
Thai-born workers at the 5 Senses Thai Day Spa, in Clifton Green, took a break from providing customers with relaxing treatments to enjoy some fun among the flakes.
And for one of them, Chaweewan Arsaina, it was the first time she had ever seen snow.
Now she and her colleagues are sending pictures of their snowballing exploits on the green near their workplace home to their families and friends in Thailand.
“Some of the girls have seen snow before, but nothing like this, and they’ve all been having a great time,” said the spa’s co-owner, Penny Graver.
“It’s a real novelty for them and they love taking photographs so they’ll be sending their pictures back home.
“Unfortunately, one of our girls has not had such a good time of it as she was supposed to fly back to Thailand from Gatwick Airport yesterday, but the bad weather has meant she has not been able to.”
