A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with a burglary in which a pensioner was assaulted.
As reported in The Press, the burglary took place at a house in the Heworth Green area of York shortly after 9pm on Tuesday, December 22. Three men went into a property and attacked a 63-year-old woman before stealing goods, including jewellery, cash and a handbag.
Police said the victim was left very shaken and badly bruised after the attack. The three men were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas in the raid and are thought to have escaped in a silver car along Malton Road towards Hopgrove roundabout.
Police said the arrested 26-year-old local man has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
