City of York Ladies I were held to a 0-0 draw by hosts Wigan in their penultimate match of the North League division one season.
York started well and immediately applied pressure on the Wigan defence.
The visitors created chances in the first half, but were unable to find a way past the Wigan goalkeeper.
Wigan also attacked hard, but York’s defence soaked up all the pressure.
The second half followed the same pattern with York creating more chances on goal, but they were constantly denied by the ’keeper.
City of York Ladies II were 7-0 winners at home to Acomb I in Yorkshire League division two.
York captain Fiona Gemmell led the way with a hat-trick, which earned her a well-deserved man-of-the-match award.
York continued to dominate the game and scored further goals from Vicky Skilton, Annabel Lee, Julie Routledge and Vanessa Fox.
