ALLOTMENT holders in the Fishergate area of York will be able to get their tools and other items security marked next week.
York police are planning to hold a crime prevention event at Low Moor allotments, in Kilburn Road, from 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
Tools will be spray-painted with a UV colour unique to the allotments so if any tools are stolen and recovered by the police, they know where they were stolen from.
PCSO Laura Smith, of the Fishergate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are holding this event to give allotment holders advice about how they can reduce the chances of becoming a victim of crime.”
