A BURGLAR on a bike was chased down the road after stealing a laptop computer from a house in York.
The offender entered the property in Hawthorn Terrace, New Earswick, via an unlocked front door and made off with a laptop left in the hallway.
He was chased by the owner of the house, but got away.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at 2.50pm on Friday.
The suspect is described as white, aged 17 to 20, about 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build and who was wearing dark clothing and a dark beanie hat with a white rim around the base.
