City of York Council is always banging on about York Pride.
I live near the former North Eastern Railway headquarters which is currently being converted into a five-star hotel and it occurred to me: “How does the council intend to square the hotel with the night-time environment?”
We have suffered the usual series of mini-riots in Tanner Row, with crowds of bellowing drunks and squawking women looking for places to fight or vomit.
Presumably the guests at the hotel will be high profile, so exactly what image of York does the council think they will take away?
Alan Lewis, Tanner Row, York.
