While it is many years since I have used Elvington for either motor-sport or flying model aircraft, both fairly noisy activities, I think the local complainants should have recognised the potential for disruption before they moved into the area.

Few will have lived there in the days of true countryside peace in the days before it became an airfield and since that time it has been more or less continuously used by modellers and racers.

In the same way that some people move into an area under the flightpath of an airport then complain about the noise, I would suggest that local residents, and there cannot be all that many who are directly affected by noise made so close to ground level, should live with the consequences of their decision to purchase property near to such a venue.

If any of the complainants wants to swap their noisy, undesirable habitat near the airfield for mine in suburbia, I’ll willingly do a trade.
