MITRE have taken an early lead in John Smith’s Men’s Darts League division one after a convincing win over Tang Hall.

Rich Corner (16), Dave Scaum (20), John Quantock (180 for 19, 20), Chris Quantock (17, 19) and Lutz Leutzch (160 c/o for 15, 16) shone, with the losers’ only success coming from Simon Lansbury and Stuart Hammill.

Shepherds are the only other unbeaten team after Mark Hartley (17 and bull c/o), Gaz Witty (180, 100 c/o), John Mooring (21) and Tony Cooper (180) helped them to a 5-4 win over St Paul’s, whose Chris Thompson (2x180 for 13 and 100 c/o for 18) and Paul Cooper (16), played well.

Greyhound had Stu Limbert (13), Jamie Harding (21) and Phil Brook (19, 20) doing well but Acomb won 6-3 thanks to Andy Rennie (180 for 17), Adam Thompson (19), Keith Turner (21) and Steve Atkin (180).

Crescent ‘B’ are the only unbeaten side in division two after Paul Helm (112 c/o for 21), Neil Fairclough (129 bull c/o) and Iain Smith (15) gave them a 7-2 win at Cueball, whose Kris Outerson (20) and Rob Sargent (180 for 21) played well.

Derwent are the early pacesetters in division three after Derek Adamson (140 c/o) helped them to a 6-3 win over Sun.
