Selby RUFC Under-16s opened their season with a stunning 38-5 victory at Huddersfield.

The full 30-strong Swans squad was given a run-out, which led to frequent interchanges – but the quality of play was consistent.

After ten minutes, Jay Robinson grabbed the first of a quick-fire brace.

Huddersfield rallied but Selby scored twice again before the break as Will Siddall and Joe Middleton crashed over.

Huddersfield started the second half by missing a penalty, but then they slashed through slumbering cover for a try.

Selby added two further tries by Jif-Jif Alvarado and Tom Kimpson.

Josh Cruise kept the scoreboard ticking over with four out of six conversions.

This weekend, the U16s play their first home game of the season against Doncaster at Sandhill Lane.
