IN The Press of September 14, it was stated that Energy Partnership Ltd are launching a new scheme to cut energy bills in the city.
In the very near future, I am having a new and more efficient heating boiler fitted as a way of doing my bit to save energy. Some years ago, I also fitted double loft insulation, at my own expense, to achieve the same aim.
Being over 65, I recently applied for a grant to have my cavity walls insulated. After an inspection was done, I was told I did not qualify because it was not possible to do two-thirds of my outside walls because of an extension that was built and insulated some years ago.
I estimate that about half of my outside walls are not insulated, so I would welcome any comment from the Energy Partnership as to why this is so.
Surely leaving half a house without insulation defeats the object.
