BUS passengers were today being invited on board a special information bus to give their views on public transport in the city ahead of York’s first Car Free Day next week.
Bus It, the region’s travelling public transport information bus, was stopping off at Front Street, in Acomb, between 10am and 2pm, to give bus users in the city the chance to give some feedback.
Visitors to the bus were also able to pick up comprehensive bus and train information for all services in and around York.
Bus It will be returning to York on Car Free Day next Tuesday, when it will be parked in St Sampson’s Square from 10am to 5pm.
The aim of Car Free Day, which is being co-ordinated by City of York Council, is to reduce traffic congestion in the city and show residents and visitors that there are a number of easy, healthy and cheaper alternatives to the car.
