YORK is celebrating after scooping a Silver Gilt Award in the Yorkshire In Bloom competition.
The judges highlighted York’s displays of spring flowers, the standard of highway verges, open spaces and business premises and colleges as ‘excellent’ and praised the dedication of staff and volunteers at Brunswick Organic Nursery.
They were also impressed with the grounds at York St John University and York Designer Outlet, the work of the allotment officer, well-managed nature reserves and the council’s recycling policies.
