THE Wizard Of Oz’s Dorothy is just one of nearly 100 scarecrows on display this week in the Wolds village of Wetwang.
The spectacle attracted more than 500 visitors over the sunny Bank Holiday weekend, with hundreds more expected in the next few days.
All funds from the Scarecrow Week – which ends on Saturday – will go towards the upkeep of the village hall.
Meanwhile, villagers in Huntington, York, will hold their annual scarecrow festival this weekend. At least 60 scarecrows in all manner of poses will be scattered around the village on Saturday and Sunday, all of them created by local people.
The organisers of the festival have created a trail around the village which people can take part in for £2.50.
All cash raised will go to the fund to replace the roof of Huntington Memorial Hall.
The event begins at 1pm and finishes at 5pm on both days.
