ON FRIDAY, it will be 24 years since the Heysel Stadium disaster in Brussels.
Thirty-nine people, Italians along with some Belgians, were killed when Liverpool FC supporters charged towards Juventus FC supporters. The dividing wall, separating the rival European Cup final supporters, collapsed under the pressure.
We had the Hillsborough Disaster memorial recently, with Merseysiders calling out: “Justice for the 96”, in reference to those Liverpool FC supporters who died in 1989.
I wonder if there will be any memorial services anywhere in England on Friday, for the 39 foreign victims at Heysel in 1985?
