HUNDREDS of people queued to get into Marks and Spencer's stores in York today to take advantage of the store's Penny Bazaar.
The shop is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion is selling a number of goods at 1p the original cost of goods on the company's market stall 125 years ago.
The queue at the Pavement entrance of the store stretched right back to the public toilets in Parliament Street at one point as customers waited to buy items including a necklace, socks, knickers, ties and beach toys.
The offer was open to the first 1,000 people and will be on again tomorrow and Friday.
