I thought Press readers would be interested in a conversation held with a cyclist who pulled up beside my car in the middle lane of a busy Grimston Bar roundabout.
I pointed out to him that there was a very good cycle lane adjacent, to which he replied: “My bike is not that type of bike, it is a road bike,” at which point he cycled off, crossing a busy junction.
Do I take it that money will be provided to enable cyclists to purchase “that type of bike”? If not, why are we wasting so much money providing cyclists with safe cycle lanes if they do not use them?
