FULFORD Tennis Club have been promoted to the top Yorkshire tier in the National Club League pyramid.
Fulford beat local division 2a rivals York and then Holmes Ladder in the last match of the season to secure a place in the county’s division one.
The Fulford team led by Martin Glassett will now play against the top players in Yorkshire for the first time in the club’s history.
Glassett said: “This is a real achievement by Fulford. We’re looking forward to the challenge and hope we can build on last season’s success.”
The National Club League season begins on Sunday, May 3 and runs until June 14. Anyone interested in playing for Fulford should contact Glassett on glass64@tiscali.co.uk
