STAFF and friends of a York children’s nursery have raised £337 for charity at a ladies’ pamper evening.
Busy Bees, at Rawcliffe, held the event to boost funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The night included manicures, makeovers, foot spas, massages, reiki, tarot reading and a raffle.
Ali Cousins, manager at Busy Bees, said: “It’s great to hold an occasion especially for mums, as they deserve a bit of pampering. Not only was it a great evening, but it also helped raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.”
Meanwhile, York’s St Leonard’s Hospice is offering ladies the chance relax and try some new therapies and beauty treatments at its pamper evening at the York Marriott Hotel, in Tadcaster Road, on Thursday, April 23.
The event starts at 6.30pm and there will be complementary therapy, demonstrations of make-up and skin care as well as chocolate tasting. Guests will also receive a goody bag. Phone Judith on 01904 77 77 77 for more information. Tickets for the evening cost £16.50 and include a welcome drink and a knife-and-fork buffet.
