STRUGGLING Easingwold Town were edged out by high-flying Dunnington 2-1 in the York FA Under-19s Football League.

Easingwold started well and Ollie Barton had an early shot cleared off the line.

They took the lead two minutes before half-time when Simon Webster hit a great shot into the far corner of the net to give goalkeeper Matt Shepherd no chance.

Dunnington upped their game in the second half and scored twice in the last 20 minutes.

Mike Watson equalised when he pounced on a loose ball in the six-yard box.

Brad Swainston got the winner with a deft chip five minutes later.

Johnny Hunter was denied an equaliser two minutes from time when his header hit the bar.

Hamilton Panthers were beaten 4-2 after leading 2-0 at half-time.

John Patrick and Jamie Kitson put Panthers in control before the break.

But Reece Chappelow started the New Earswick comeback with a free-kick from the edge of the box.

Man of the match Dean Bowers then bagged a hat-trick to seal the victory.

Leaders Rawcliffe thrashed basement side Huntington 12-0 to move five points clear at the top.

Eddy Clapham scored five goals for the second time in three weeks, while Karl Butler, Stu Jenkins, Lee Stewart and Liam Spencer were also on the scoresheet as the table-toppers took their tally for the season to 83.

Fourth-placed Poppleton won 2-1 at home to sixth-placed Heworth.

Poppleton got off to great a start when Justin Benford lobbed the ’keeper after five minutes.

Heworth equalised ten minutes later with a header from a free-kick, but Jack Doyle headed Pop’s winner two minutes from time.

Wigginton beat Tadcaster 1-0 thanks to a Nick Schofield goal.
