I was always under the impression that a prison sentence under three months would mean the recipient would serve all of the sentence.

Why has Lord Ahmed been released after serving only two weeks? This lends a mockery to the public’s perception of justice. If the magistrates had intended that he only serve two weeks, can we ascertain why they then issued a three-month sentence?

Even given the norm, serving two-thirds of a sentence, two weeks is far off the sentence given.

I am in no doubt that Lord Ahmed has in the past given much of his time and energy to this region, but should he be treated any differently to any other citizen?
