RISING star Harry Matthews is determined not to let his career be derailed by experienced campaigner Lester Walsh.
Matthews, the ‘Pocklington Rocket’, will defend his unbeaten record against 33-year-old Walsh in his Midlands backyard on Saturday, April 4.
But 21-year-old Matthews is in prime condition ahead of his fifth professional bout at the Hilton Hotel, in Coventry.
He said: “My attitude is ‘I’m five and o, here we go’. The fight is two weeks away and training is going really well.
“Walsh is fighting desperate, but I am beginning my career and I’m not willing to let him stop me doing what I want to do.”
Tickets for the black tie dinner show, which cost £60, are available by phoning Matthews on 07944 972015.
