TAYLOR Swift is a right little clever clogs. Fearless was by far the best-selling album in the US last year, topping the Billboard charts for 11 weeks, instantly thrashing results from Coldplay and U2.

Already a major stadium act, a movie star appearing with the likes of Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers, Swift is also about to launch her own brand of fashion wear.

As if we weren’t all feeling like underachievers already, Swift hasn’t yet blown out 20 candles on a birthday cake.

Bombarded with statistics and album sales figures, one could be fooled in to believing that Taylor Swift is one of the all time greats in the making. But I can’t see it.

Sure she’s as pretty as a new season Barbie and she has a sweet, inoffensive voice. But is there any real depth to Our Song, Should Have Said No or Teardrops On My Guitar? Well, no. All are decent country pop crossover tunes, which would not be out of place on a new Leanne Rimes set, but the character and warmth of most country classics can not be found on this set.

To be honest, it is hard to see what all the fuss is about.
