WE have got used to using Google Earth to zoom in from space and see our homes and towns from above. Now we can use the technology to virtually walk along the street. York is one of 25 UK cities covered by the new Street View service.
Google says it has gone to great length to ensure privacy. Face recognition technology is used to blur out faces and car licence plates.
Yet while York looks great, and while this technology is undoubtedly fascinating, it does seem that increasingly cameras are watching our every move.
There may be those who feel this is a spy in the sky too far.
