HEWORTH’S Clive Whyte and Neil Wood won their second York Conservative Clubs’ DRS TV and Electrical Pairs Snooker Knockout title when they beat Acomb’s Richard Stroughair and Adrian Barraclough 2-1.
Barraclough scored a 32 break and, although the Heworth pair fought back to lead 33-32, the Acomb duo won the first frame 53-33.
Wood started the second game with breaks of 22 and 24 and the Acomb pair conceded with the scores 72-13.
Whyte built an early 28 break in the third frame, but Stroughair’s 17 break moved the Acomb twosome ahead 29-28. They appeared to have the match sewn up at 61-45 with only the colours left.
However, Wood cleared all the colours to win the frame 72-61 and the match 2-1.
