A SUPERSTORE in York has donated £1,000 to the Guardian Angels children’s unit at York Hospital to celebrate the store’s new makeover.
The money was given to the charity’s trustee, Peter Bebb, who was invited to Tesco Extra, in Clifton Moor, to cut the ribbon at an official ceremony.
The store, which has a brand new mezzanine floor, now offers a range of extra services, including an opticians, a travel money bureau, digital photo processing and a first floor café.
Store manager Steven De-Kock said: “I was delighted to meet Peter and more than happy to present him with the donation.
“Guardian Angels York does such fantastic work, and the charity is clearly making a huge difference for the children of York.” Customers are invited to an in-store party on Saturday, when there will be a children’s entertainer, stilt walker, free face painter and DJ.
