YOUNG entrepreneurs from a York primary school showed off their business skills at a celebration of enterprise.

Youngsters from Osbaldwick Primary were among a number of pupils from schools across North Yorkshire who took part in the event at Sandburn Hall, at Flaxron, near York.

The Osbaldwick youngsters made a presentation to businesses about a shop they set up in their school. The youngsters sold goods from their enterprise to delegates at the event, which was organised by North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership (NYBEP).

Janette Gudgeon, head of delivery and development at NYBEP, said the occasion was “a celebration and a showcase of what is going on in our schools to develop enterprising skills in young people”.

She said the Osbaldwick presentation was “very impressive” and “stunning”. “They talked about how they made profit running their shop and how they made loss and they talked about financial awareness and how they deal with customers and the skills that they need to be able to run a business,” she said.
