IT SEEMS I may have misjudged the new First York management, now based in Leeds.

It seems that they have actually listened.

I recently complained about the No 10 bus service, which leaves Poppleton at 7.30am, and travels through the Acomb ward.

The single-decker bus on a good weather day is overcrowded, on a bad weather day extremely so.

The bus is used by young people travelling to All Saints’ and Millthorpe schools, and by workers who cannot use the bus leaving Poppleton at 8am as it will not get them to their destination on time.

This results in young people sitting in luggage racks and other passengers standing for the whole of the journey to town.

However, it seems the request for a double-decker has been answered, as all this last week one has been used on the 7.30am service. I hope that the many residents who have told me that they have stopped using the bus will think again now that a suitable vehicle has been provided.

Thank you First, the next thing you can do is to increase the service to a 15-minute one as originally promised.
